Dals to Overhaul Data Platform with Godel’s Expertise
Following a successful previous advisory collaboration with Godel, Manchester-based Dals has now engaged Godel to create a new data platform that combines all of its current platforms into a centralised system.
Dals, a leading and rapidly growing supplier to public sector bodies across the UK, currently collates data through separate platforms for the various modes of interpreting it offers, which include telephone, video and face-to-face delivery.
It now has an ambitious plan to bring all of its data sources together, with the goal of aiding decision-making by enhancing the quality and accessibility of its data for internal and external reporting purposes.
Dals has long been at the forefront of providing high-quality interpreting and translation services, helping individuals and organisations access essential services and navigate complex communication challenges. However, the company aims to further set itself apart from its competitors via enhanced technology offerings.
Sam Wilson, CTO at Dals, said: “In a highly competitive market, we aim to lead in innovation. We will work with Godel to develop a new platform in Databricks that will drive more intuitive analytics and produce reliable and consistent reporting. These efforts aim to deliver cutting-edge solutions that improve our project outcomes and internal capabilities.”
Within this platform, the Lakehouse architecture, hosted on AWS, is designed to deliver insights and information that will help clients utilise Dals’ services more effectively and enhance service. The aim is to enhance Dal’s data offering and ensure compliance with new government procurement standards.
“Our collaboration with Godel will not only provide the critical data expertise but also ensure the relevant governance and project oversight is in place to provide a structured approach to meet business goals,” added Wilson. “As we move into this exciting new phase of our innovation, Godel’s support will help us drive meaningful impact for our business and clients.”
The project is expected to last for five-and-a-half months, and the platform will be designed so that after this period, Dals’ internal tech team will be able to continue to build on the platform as the company scales further in future.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership journey with Dals in its mission to build a fairer, more understanding world. The opportunity to contribute our data technical expertise will enable the company to innovate, remain competitive and drive its business goals,” said Gareth Ainsworth, CEO at Godel Technologies.
