What Do Product Owners Do?
The Product Owner is responsible for the backlog and prioritisation of requirements, and defining the scope of MLP, MMP, phases, etc. Low-level acceptance criteria for user stories are either created by the PO themselves, or by appointed Business Analyst(s), usually from the Godel side.
At Godel, we have defined 6 activities that ensure product ownership is defined and delivered for your project.
Strategy: Defining the product strategy and setting goals.
Tactics: Own Product design to create and maintain Product roadmap.
User Experience: Gain a deeper understanding of customer/user goals, habits, usage and needs and ensure the roadmap, backlog and release plan are customer centric.
Development: Set up and monitor Product metrics / KPIs, using data to form and validate product hypothesis and make informed decisions. Product owner will also provide input to the sprint with alignment direction towards outcome metrics, whilst supporting the team.
Change management: Communicate product changes and customer behaviours impacted by Product and update the roadmap and prune the backlog.
Stakeholders: Own and drive stakeholder relationships. Meet with stakeholders to discuss and share Product roadmap, release plan and internal / external conditions.
