Agile Software Development

In a world where the need
for constant innovation comes
as standard, businesses cannot afford to stand still

We're agile about agile

At Godel, all our clients are on different stages of their agile journey. Some are very agile, and our teams learn from our clients to be fully aligned in the agile process. On the other hand, some are not as familiar with the ways of working and our Agile Delivery Coordinators and other team members are here to support and teach clients how to be agile.

Everyone has their own experience and explanation of why we use agile. It is a huge responsibility as we look at how we could do it better, not just Godel, but from the client’s side too. Therefore, the ADCs are here to look at what can be done better from using agile.

Leverage Our Experience

At Godel we have significant experience in Agile Development across numerous industries, partnering with companies on agile delivery for many years. In this time we have worked in SCRUM, Kanban and Lean organisations; although it is important to note that these methodologies are not prescriptive and organisations adapt, borrow and mix these methodologies to suit their personal needs.

Consequently, our exposure to these approaches and the combinations has allowed us to become highly adaptive, with the ability to adopt your particular methodology quickly and productively.

DON'T GO CHASING WATERFALLS

As a consequence of the continual need to move quickly and adapt to new requirements or challenges, Agile Development has become the preferred approach for software delivery.

DON'T GO CHASING WATERFALLS

As a consequence of the continual need to move quickly and adapt to new requirements or challenges, Agile Development has become the preferred approach for software delivery. Unlike other methodologies that adopt a more linear approach, such as Waterfall, Agile Development is an iterative process that places the needs of the business at the centre, cultivating a more collaborative process between the development team and business stakeholders.

The Agile Development process breaks down features, defects and enhancements, estimates their effort and then assigns them to a release (each release can be viewed as a mini project.) Each release has a deadline, which can vary in length, but will typically be every two weeks. By breaking down large initiatives into smaller releases, priorities can be easily managed and changed as needed. With a new release of the software going into production on a regular basis, clients will be able to see constant value, as applications are continually improved to support the business at the point of need: an important benefit for your organisation.

INCORPORATING DISTRIBUTED AGILE

Godel continue to bring industry leading ‘best practice’ experience to the table with clients working in partnership to devise ways to seamlessly integrate with your existing teams setup.

INCORPORATING DISTRIBUTED AGILE

Our clients are all in varying stages of their own agile journey and whilst in infancy, an agile transformation strategy focuses on in-house teams, a natural next step in the journey is the requirement for your in-house team to work in co-operation with distributed members of your own team or a partner company in order for your company to benefit for other reasons (specific expertise requirement, increased capacity, specific project with key integrations etc).

Godel continue to bring industry leading ‘best practice’ experience to the table with clients working in partnership to devise ways to seamlessly integrate with your existing teams setup and minimise the change aspect required to make remote teams a success.

Godel ADCs are always ready to look at what can be done better from using agile. Read more about the roles Godel experts can be presented in the teams:

Scrum Master – a great communicator and facilitator who ensures a larger team follows the principles and values of the Scrum framework, introduces all required Scrum ceremonies and empowers the team for constant inspection and improvement of their ways of working.

Elena Ogneva

Head of Agile Delivery Division

"In the constantly changing world where everyone is speaking Agile and flexibility, but the stakeholders expect a commitment, there is more than ever a growing need in a leader who shares the Agile values, empowers the teams to be independent and self-sufficient working in a safe atmosphere to deliver business critical solutions, and the same time who is able to ensure an absolute transparency and predictability for a successful end-to-end delivery. This superhero is called Agile Delivery Coordinator."

What our clients say

Very Close and Honest Relationship with Godel

"We have a very close and honest relationship with Godel which is serving us well – we don’t tell the team what to do, we very much take their suggestions and adopt them as best practice in some cases – they challenge us every step of the way".

Scott Christie | Group Chief Technology Officer

We Were Able to Get an Engineering Team with the Right Skills We Needed

"We looked at the option of offshoring and using an engineering arm of another business and we came across Godel. An advantage of this was that we were able to get an engineering team with the right skills we needed, at the speed we needed. I was doubtful how many other people could achieve that".
