Godel Technologies opens new office in Mogilev, Belarus
Godel is off to a flying start in 2019 by opening a new engineering centre of excellence in the city of Mogilev, Belarus. Mogilev is 200km east of the Belarusian capital city, Minsk, and has a population of c.400,000 people. This is the company’s sixth development centre of excellence in a fifth Belarusian city. Other locations include Minsk, Brest, Grodno and Gomel.
Godel has already claimed an official place in the top 10 Belarusian IT companies recognised by the Belarus High Technology Park with an 800-strong workforce. The new office is in the early stages of set-up but is recruiting IT specialists to join the award-winning software development teams working on high-profile UK brands across the other locations. The company which is headquartered in Manchester, England includes Jet2, Virgin Holiday’s, Rental Cars, Muddy Boots, Voiteq, AccessPay, The White Company and Comparethemarket.com as customers.
2018 was a strong year for the company which works with customers to plug the software engineering skills gap in the UK market place from its nearshored locations. Each new location delivers increasing levels of talent pools to tap into for UK brands to scale their businesses in line with the demands of each market place.
“We are very proud to continue our investment within the Belarus region by opening a centre of excellence in another location. We are on track to establishing ourselves as a 1,000 person-strong software engineering firm by 2020 and this positions Godel perfectly as a company which is large enough to scale, but still small enough to care, offering our clients the TLC they deserve,” said Andrew Afanasenko, Chief Operations Officer at Godel.
“With a solid pipeline of exciting projects continuing to be won, the growth looks set to continue.”
