Godel sponsor employee and friends first half marathon
Client Director at Godel Mark Green and his close friend Dave Jones recently ran the Manchester half marathon to raise money for the ‘Newborn intensive care unit’ at St Mary’s Hospital. Sponsored by friends, family and work colleagues the two raised over £1000.
The run took place on Sunday 16th October, despite the rain more than 10,000 people completed the course which took them 13 miles through Old Trafford, Stretford, Brooklands and sale. With thousands of spectators cheering on the runners from the side-lines this year the race was broadcasted on Channel 4.
Mark’s son Joshua spent the first two weeks of his life at St Mary’s newborn intensive care unit, so wanting to raise as much money as possible die hard Manchester United supporter Mark said that if he raised over £1,000 he would complete his run wearing a Manchester City Football kit which was kindly donated by his cousin.
“Thank you to everyone who sponsored our first half marathon. From the bottom of mine and Dave’s heart it really does mean a lot to be able to raise money for such a great cause. Although tiring we both had a great day and have already planned our next run so that we can raise even money money.” Mark Green.
Mark’s run time was 1 hour and 44 minutes, with Dave coming in just behind him completing it in 2 hours 4 minutes.
