Godel Gets Ready for Hack Manchester 2016

As tickets went on sale for Hack Manchester 2016 Godel were one of the first companies to register their team. The 24 hour coding competition, which is part of this year’s 10th anniversary of the Manchester Science festival, will begin on the 29th October. Godel have a track record of success at Hack Manchester with last year’s team being crowned ‘Best Development Team’.

The weekend event will be hosted at the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) and for 24 hours will be home to over 250 participants, including 4 talented developers from Godel’s Belarus offices.  Belarussian developers have consistently shown amazing skills in many major coding competitions, in particular the Facebook Hacker Cup and Google Code Jam.

Godel CEO, Neil Turvin said “The past four years of Google’s Hackathon competitions have been won by Belarussian developers, which goes to demonstrate the talent available in Belarus”.

This year’s Hack Manchester will be challenging teams’ technical ability and endurance. The event lasts for 24 hours, so coders will be working through the night to produce the best responses to their assigned tasks. With lots of prizes up for grabs, every developer there will be excited to show what they can do and prove that they can handle such a huge challenge.

Neil believes that Hack Manchester is an excellent opportunity for young developers. He continued, “This shall be the third time we have entered the competition after winning best software development company on the last two occasions. It gives our teams the opportunity to demonstrate their capability to innovate which contradicts what most people think about when working alongside a nearshore or offshore partners.  We also are very hopeful this year that our team performs as well as previous winners. Our team are raring to show Manchester their skills and add their names to the list of Belarussian coding champions – we can’t wait!”

This year’s sponsors include The Cooperative, Zuto, RentalCars and The Lad Bible, some of whom having provided last year’s challenging tasks. The huge amount of developers in attendance this year goes to show how Manchester is a key location for software talent. It is certain that some amazing talent will be seen at 2016’s Hack Manchester, and the Godel team is ready to shine amongst them.
