One of Godel’s leading software developers last night won Developer of the Year at Computing magazine’s Digital Technology Leaders Awards 2017, beating competition from AXA PPP Healthcare and DWP Digital.

Aliaksandr Bakunovich has been coding for 24 years since the age of just 13, and has been one of Godel’s leading software developers for the last 10 years. He is an expert in Java (J2EE, J2ME, Android), .NET 1.1/2.0/3.5/4.0, Web 2.0 and mobile development and works closely with some of the UK’s largest brand names to help them scale technology in line with rapid growth.

His latest client project is working alongside a company that focuses on developing effective Warehouse Management Systems for clients, ranging from global organisations to SMBs. The project demonstrates Aliaksandr’s software development skills as well as his ability to manage a team to deliver to the client’s specifications and timelines.

“It’s tremendous for Aliaksandr to be recognised by the computing industry in this way – he’s a very worthy winner and can turn his hand to all tasks in the development process by being comfortable working in many programming environments,” explains Neil Turvin, CEO, Godel.

“Quite simply he is vital to the success of many of our digital projects from inception right through to deployment – working closely with the clients and delivering their requirements.”

Aliaksandr was part of the team from Godel that took part in the Manchester Hackathon 2015 and won Rental Cars company challenge. He was then chosen to mentor Godel`s all-female development team at the Manchester Hackathon 2016.

The awards ceremony was held in London on July 6, 2017 at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel.
