Nearshore software development organisation Godel has invested £500k in enhancing its dedicated Cloud and DevOps division and has been awarded Microsoft Gold Partner status for Cloud Platform to add to its existing Gold certification for Application Development.

The investment is being channelled into a new Head of DevOps role plus a team, an R&D team and the professional training & development of a significant number of its Cloud, DevOps and development staff in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform, as well as in intelligent applications and cognitive services.

The new division will enhance Godel’s existing cloud competencies and provide the organisation with extended capability to deliver dedicated software development teams where skills currently don’t exist or can’t be acquired fast enough by clients in-house. The Godel development teams work closely with customers to deliver a range of services including migration of applications into the cloud, platform as a service, microservices, AI and machine learning, automation, business intelligence and testing.

“Increasingly our customers are working with us to move legacy applications or develop new applications for the cloud – brands like Experian and Rentalcars.com,” explains John Bailey, cloud partner manager, Godel.
“This investment made into our talented teams means that we can deliver on a set of offerings for clients by having cross functional teams that focus on delivering the latest technologies, in partnership with our clients.”

The investment will also help Godel to build partner relationships with the main platform vendors, gain accreditations and formalise offers around its cloud services. Godel is delivering a 12-month strategy to use its experience and gain further partner status’ by gathering customer references, meeting revenue thresholds and gaining authorised technical & professional accreditations.

“We’ve already made leaps and bounds into being able to offer cloud and DevOps to customers – we have the warts and all experience but this investment puts us on a path to supplementing this experience with formal accreditations and an increasingly skilled workforce. We will be able to deliver customers a truly cross-functional team that not only delivers world-class leading software but also can implement it to best effect when meeting business objectives,” concludes John Bailey.
