Godel has won a new contract with Manchester-based EV-comply to help bolster the company’s software development capabilities to engineer an end to end platform to increase the productivity and efficiency of the installation of electric vehicle charge points. The system will help users co-ordinate countrywide installations of charge points for electric vehicles.

The last five years have seen a remarkable surge in demand for electric vehicles in the UK – new registrations of plug-in cars increased from 3,500 in 2013 to more than 246,000 by the end of October 2019 with many of the top car manufacturers now offering an EV option. There has also been a huge increase in the number of pure-electric and plug-in hybrid models available in the UK.

“We have our own inhouse development capabilities, but needed a plan for rapid scale-up to stay ahead of our market – there is huge software development scope for our business and Godel will be initially helping us roll out phase one – but with much more planned beyond that,” explains Stephen Smith, director, EV-comply.

EV-comply is a simple and efficient way to input, store and process manage customer and installation data for electric vehicle charge point installations from initial lead through to survey and installation completion. The software and App will guide installers through the entire process whilst maintaining efficiencies and scheme compliance throughout.

“Whether a sole trader, an SME or large business EV-comply can scale to manage customers, installations and back office via one robust solution, providing clear, real-time overview of the business with the ability to drill into key operational and commercial details allowing users to always stay in control,” explains Stephen Smith.

“We chose to bring Godel onboard because they came highly recommended and it was clear the team were able to help us achieve our goals as fast as we need to. I see this as the beginning of an engagement between our organisations and I’m sure that if phase one goes well, there will be other projects to start.”

The engagement is underway this month.
