The Prolific North Tech Awards celebrate the incredible innovation of the North’s tech sector – rewarding the organisations, teams and individuals contributing to the region’s growth. 

The combined team has been shortlisted in the “Transformation Through Tech” category for transforming the payment experience for Sofology’s customers. This award celebrates the most impactful digital transformation projects in the north. 

Sofology is a specialist sofa retailer, founded by the family of Tyldesley in North West England. Godel and Sofology: Where Collaboration Meets Comfort 

Sofology was evolving very quickly as a business meaning the technology needed to advance, so they chose Godel as its nearshore software development partner. The partnership began in 2019 to help grow Sofology’s capabilities online and support its strategic growth plans to become a truly nationwide business.  

The partnership has worked on various projects related to Sofology’s retail and e-commerce domain, including greenfield development, rewriting, and API implementation. Over half a decade, the teams have achieved significant milestones together and forged a collaborative partnership built on trust.

Sofology wanted to make significant improvements to benefit their customers in areas such as lending, offering more payment options and the overall experience of placing an order. The Godel team helped with migrating to an improved intelligent lending platform which has so far resulted in a 1.9% increased acceptance rate for customers and a much smoother lending journey.

The teams have also been involved in shaping Sofology’s AI automation journey via an AI-powered virtual assistant solution, making it simpler for customers to place orders and address payment-related queries through voice interactions. It also allows Sofology to be fully PCI DSS compliant.
