Manchester-headquartered Godel Technologies has revealed the success of its expansion in Poland so far and unveiled new ambitious growth plans to further cement the nearshore partner’s presence in the thriving EU location.

Named one of Europe’s most developed tech hubs, Poland has quickly established itself to become the key EU development location in Godel, with over 1000 Godel employees now in various locations across the county.

Godel’s Polish journey began at the start of 2021 when the first development centre opened in Lodz. The first year saw considerable growth, reaching over 300 Godel employees in the location. The continued growth in the city known as the ‘Polish Manchester’ saw Godel recently open a new office in Lodz which is 3x bigger than its original office space, located nearer to the city centre near Piotrkowska Street. The larger 1598 m2 premises will accommodate Godel’s growth in Lodz and will offer increased space and development opportunities for employees and the business.

“In addition to growing our teams across Europe, the company’s impressive plans to expand further included cementing Poland as a key EU location for Godel. 2022 has seen business growth as a priority which included opening a second office in Wroclaw earlier this year. The remainder of this year will see Godel look to establish, strengthen and grow the Godel brand in our existing and planned development locations, whilst offering a thriving development location to our growing long-term UK partners.” Neil McMurdo, Chief Executive Officer at Godel.

Due to the excelled growth and brand reputation, Godel’s Polish expansion sees no boundaries as the nearshore partner recently revealed Godel’s newest Polish development centre will be based in Gdansk, Poland’s principal seaport and the centre of the country’s fourth-largest metropolitan area.

Neil continues: “Reaching over 1000 Godel employees in Poland is no mean feat and the progress across our business will allow us to grow in our new locations and bring substantial benefits to local hiring markets, a success we have already seen in our other Polish locations. I am so proud of what we have achieved so far, and we are thankful for the continued support from the Townhall, the Polish community and of course, our new recruits.”

Earlier this year, Godel’s Head of Operations, Sylwia Skorupka, participated in a press conference devoted to the launch of profi.lodz.pl., a new job portal catered to those looking for job vacancies in Lodz. The initiative was created to boost the Lodz tech sector and support companies, such as Godel, in recruiting local talent.

“Earlier this year, we were delighted to announce that the Godel Mastery Program arrived in Poland. The Mastery is a fantastic opportunity for people who would like to put their IT knowledge to the test and learn from the best specialists at Godel and work on real projects. Furthermore, Godel also launched a special Mastery Program in Poland to support Ukrainian refugees. The support from Godel has given Ukrainians the opportunity to develop a profession for their future.” Sylwia Skorupka, Head of Operations in Lodz

Reflecting on Godel’s growth plans, Andrew Afanasenko, Chief Operating Officer at Godel said “Momentum is accelerating in European tech hubs and Poland is playing a significant part in this. The combination of Godel’s increasing presence in multiple locations across Poland shows we’re not slowing down and Godel will continue to take this incredible opportunity to be part of the thriving Polish IT community.”
