Godel’s Alesia Plotnikava has been shortlisted as a finalist for Role Model of the Year – Tech at the Women in Tech Excellence awards 2022.

This award is for the woman who most inspires her colleagues and leads by example. The category, which has 16 finalists will be judged and the winner will be announced on 22nd November at The Brewery, London.

Alesia Plotnikava joined Godel over 4 years ago as an Agile Delivery Coordinator, most recently working as a Delivery Manager for a Godel client, a leading price comparison brand. Being an Agile Delivery Coordinator meant Alesia has been deeply involved in cementing the close relationship between Godel and the client.

Over the past year, Alesia discovered the job at hand went far beyond her role on paper. She quickly found a unique way of shaping her role and attitude which meant she was always supportive, kind and open with people, helping where she could whilst constantly working with the client to make sure both businesses were aligned.

“Overall, the task was not an ordinary one, nor a simple one. I believe that as a woman, I tried my best to understand people’s emotions and challenges, being as empathic as I could to support them. I believe I managed it well and I’m proud to have been a role model to my team during a difficult period.” Explains Alesia

“I’m delighted to be shortlisted in this fantastic category and recognised for being a role model at Godel. Being a team leader means being a role model, you need to set an example of bringing honesty, hard work and result orientation to a role. It’s important you drive the right culture that makes you comfortable and happy to go to work each day. The biggest lesson I’ve learnt is, whatever happens, just be positive, strong and kind. I am definitely thankful for this experience.”

When asked what her top tip would be for a woman looking to start a career in IT, Alesia said, “Never be afraid of the world of code that may seem too complicated and unknown. You can bring value to it and thrive working in this sector. Women can excel in anything, depending on what you are keen to do – programming, managing, developing products, etc. The universe of tech is so interesting and wide that you can definitely find your place here.”

Jade Evans, Service Delivery Manager at Godel said, “I have had the pleasure of working closely with Alesia for some time now and she is an incredibly talented Delivery Manager and an absolute asset to our business. Alesia has been a rock to her team and an amazing role model, supporting people whilst also ensuring we maintained a strong service for our client. Her ability to motivate, lift people’s spirits and bring people together is a joy to watch.”
