easyfundraising is the UK’s largest charity shopping site that raises donations when you shop online. Launched in 2005, easyfundraising partners with over 7,000 brands and gives the option to donate to over 180,000 charities without costing the consumer a penny.

With a reported decrease in charitable donations coupled with a rising economic crisis, the charity cashback platform sought a partner that would accelerate the growth of its technical team and help to deliver its ambitious rebrand.

Richard Pogson, CTO at easyfundraising explained. “With consumer spending rapidly changing, we were mindful it was a good opportunity to alter our branding and how we talk about the company as a whole. From a technical side, we decided to rebrand and restyle our products that would add new functionalities and analytics to create better user journeys.

Given the pace of in-house technical recruitment, we were keen to work with a partner that would work alongside our existing teams and deliver in a timescale that aligned with our roadmap. We decided that partnering with Godel would enable us to benefit from their years of experience and accelerate the growth of the team with equally skilled engineers, as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.”

Since the partnership kickstarted in 2022, the Godel team have been helping to rework easyfundraising’s website, iOS and Android mobile apps, and browser extension products. The team have also completed a donation reminder product for iPhone using new technology from Apple, making easyfundraising the 2nd in the country to go live with the product.

easyfundraising is delighted with the outcome so far, as Richard explained. “We were really impressed with how well the Godel team has integrated with our teams, understanding our challenges and techniques and being able to support us to ensure our products were delivered on time. Godel was also able to offer recommendations and guidance on integrating a brand new QA process, which highlights the value of having a partner like Godel.”

Richard continues. “We are currently going through a rapid experimentation phase to shape our roadmap for the remainder of the year, and we have some exciting projects lined up and we look forward to utilising our partnership with Godel further.

Reflecting on the partnership so far, Neil McMurdo, CEO at Godel said. “We are delighted with the partnership and the success it has brought so far. The Godel team has helped with the rebranding of easyfundraising’s products, which is a necessary requirement as we navigate a changing world for consumers.”
