Jet2.com is the fourth largest airline in the UK. The airline operates over 340 scheduled routes from 9 UK airports to 60 holiday destinations in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands, European Leisure Cities and beyond. Having flown over 50 million customers to more than 50 destinations, Jet2 has grown rapidly since it was established and continues to strengthen established routes as well as offer new destinations

Leading leisure airline and package holiday specialist, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has appointed software developer Godel to support its ongoing growth and development, by increasing and improving its software delivery capacity to provide the best user experience for customers and employees alike.

CASE STUDY

By working with Godel, the company will be able to develop software to support this ongoing growth, improving the search and booking experience for customers, and enhancing the company’s business intelligence, particularly around analytics and reporting.

Godel is working with the in-house team at Jet2, based in Leeds, to develop software that supports the company as it makes the search and booking experience as effortless and efficient as possible, across all platforms whether the customer uses a PC, tablet or mobile phone.

Godel will also integrate the company’s business intelligence with travel, finance, risk and safety compliance applications.

DEDICATED TEAM

The combined in-house and Godel team will work on a business travel application, a travel finance app that tracks payments made against suppliers’ travel bookings, and a risk and safety compliance application. Godel has delivered an allocations system that automates the billing for customers who bulk purchase seats, for example ski or cruise tours operators.

The software development team has dealt with the complicated rules centred around billing and management of these bookings, and has successfully integrated it with other internal booking and account systems.

The software, known as ‘Safety HUB’, has been developed by Godel and can be used to log everything that happens surrounding a flight. Since this application went live over 1000 users within the company are now able to track ‘incidents’ within its fleet of aircraft.

The technology can, for example, detect issues with an aircraft in the hanger, transportation or fuelling of planes, passenger or maintenance issues and even birds hitting the fuselage.

The application can be accessed by Jet2.com crew, employees, and maintenance staff and provides a repository for all issues – no matter how small or large - that can be recorded much more easily via a mobile device from any location or geography.
