Overview
Virtual Soccer Academy started its partnership with Godeltech in 2005, since then we have successfully released 3 multimedia CD/DVD applications. The Virtual Soccer Academy provides a gaming environment that stimulates football fans to interactively study how to play football. The training programmes are designed by UEFA coaches and endorsed by premiership teams such as Arsenal.
Problem
Peter Fulford of VSA came to Godeltech with just a concept as he had no technical experience in software development. He analysed the 3rd party turnkey solutions available and found out there was nothing suitable for his project within reasonable budget, having worked with Godeltech previously he decided to collaborate with us to bring his concept to life.
Solution
The Godeltech team experts developed an information architecture and business logic, which enabled complex interaction between different components; including PC applications, Website, Extranet, Web service and Database. Unhampered interactions within the system became possible due to the consistent navigation and dataflow, designed by the software engineers of Godeltech.
Godeltech created a PC application with presentation layers implemented using Flash with both business logic and Delphi. XML allows for managing content in the application via Data Layer.
A Live Update feature of the application allows users to download new features or to buy ‘skins’ for their favourite football clubs’ to brand their experience. The server side of the Live Update includes a web service, data access layer and database. All software components comply with highest security demands.
Two basic versions of the application are available: either a Trial (SMS) version where users don’t have access to all the features, or a Full version. Users should be able to personalise functionality and branding. Combining live action video from the leading football clubs in Europe, CGI and leading edge technology Godeltech has been able to transport conceptual ideas of VSA to the final product.
The online reporting capabilities allow VSA sponsors to target the marketing of their products to users of the application.

The final product was featured on Sky Sports & BBC News, it now carries the endorsement of Teddy Sherringham and has been deemed a great success by the VSA.
The application is designed for young football fans. The educational game with impressive graphics and challenging tasks makes users live their dream and study alongside their idols. Users become a part of a special football environment with all its challenges, training grounds, boot & kit rooms. Building a virtual community of fans is an important part of VSA’s promotional strategy.
The product has been replicated and over 40,000 copies produced in the UK, the product will be rolled out internationally over the next year.
