123 Insight moves to the manufacturing cloud with Godel

Manufacturing Enterprise Resource Planning vendor 123 Insight has chosen Godel as its nearshore software development partner to help it move the newest version of its software to the cloud. The Godel team will develop the application’s .net back end and java front-end for browsers and mobiles.

The combined in-house and Godel team will work to ensure that the traditional client server architecture currently delivered to 123 Insight’s manufacturing clients is transitioned to a cloud-based solution providing all the benefits associated with cloud computing.

The specialised skills required to take the existing software and make it cloud-based are difficult to source, and so 123 Insight shortlisted potential partners to choose from.

“We’re a relatively small business so its important to us that we can work in close proximity to our software development partner to effect change rapidly. I’ve been frustrated by the speed of previous solutions and needed to step things up a gear,” explains Craig Grant, operations director, 123 Insight.

“Godel is a strong agile software partner that can help us do just that in the time scales required, and thanks to its nearshore location we can work in direct contact with the team.

“We chose to work with Godel because we were impressed by its UK-based client list – many of the development partners we shortlisted operated mainly in the US. I trust Godel to help us make the important transition in our ERP software that is needed by our customers.”

The new cloud-based solution will provide manufacturers with a fully mobile application for purchase ordering, works processing, bill of materials and MRP.

123 Insight will begin working with Godel in January 2017 and will continue for two years initially but is expected to become a long-term relationship.
